Tatler - Festive one-upmanship: Christmas status symbols to watch out for
From an elaborate wreath garnished with bronzed acorns to a Christmas Day feast featuring a KellyBronze (better known as the ‘pampered prince of the turkey world’). Here are the festive markers of prestige to watch out for.
The wreath
It's often the bigger the better – and it’s always natural, as if harvested fresh from one‘s garden. Think holly, ivy, a dried mandarin or a gilded branch as if touched by one of the three wise men. An elaborate wreath is available from Mayfair boutique, Pulbrook & Gould, which shimmers with bronzed acorns, hand-tied cinnamon clusters and mixed pears. The wreaths go by the name of ‘Sussex’, ‘Hampshire’ and ‘Rutland’ – in the past, they’ve even sold an extraordinarily sumptuous ‘Deluxe-size Sage Wreath’ for £2,450 (discounting delivery). Joyeux noel!
