We are always thrilled to fulfil the special requests of our clients, especially as they mark significant occasions in their lives. And none is arguably more momentous than the birth of a child. When one of our clients was due to give birth to her little girl, we were briefed to come up with a welcoming display to accompany suitably feminine, fresh floral arrangements for Baby Girl’s homecoming.
We had great fun in creating this scene of a family of storks delivering a baby girl from the nest. The association of storks delivering babies started in Germany several hundred years ago, and was also popularised by Hans Christian Andersen’s short story, The Storks. This was the inspiration for this bespoke project.
We had the trio of storks made, and then hand-painted and embellished in our London studio with glitter, sequins, diamantes, jewels, feathers, and then finished with silk flowers, attached to the busts with encrusted pins. The storks surround a nest which was handcrafted and painted in glitter by our talented team.
Needless to say, Baby Girl was delivered safely to her proud parents!
